Branding beyond letterhead
Most would agree that buying a business is a daunting task. It was no different for Joe & Melissa when they purchased an established daycare in Piedmont, South Carolina. In addition to remodeling, hiring new staff, and restructuring their education model, they wanted to change the image. They wanted to put their best foot forward and show the community that they were going to be different than the daycare they were replacing.
Working closely with Chimera and other trusted parties, they decided on a new name: Little Sprouts Learning Center. They crafted a mission statement and nailed down their values. They believed that children learn best when they feel valued and are allowed to explore through play. They also believed that exposing children to God at a young age roots them into a sense of who they are in the big picture. Ultimately, they wanted to plant their children in good soil and watch them grow up to be well-rounded young people.
With that in mind, Chimera nailed down deadlines and began to build their image. It began with the logo - a hand-lettered logo that was professional yet child-like and vaguely resembled a potted plant. Developing a custom font to mirror their logo was also on the task list - Caryn thought it would be a fun and personal touch to their brand. Additionally, Caryn created four characters to represent each age group at Little Sprouts Learning Center. These were never required, but she felt strongly that it brought an element of fun and personality to their brand that wouldn’t exist with just a logo.
Once the whole project was complete, Chimera had created a new logo, website, letterhead package, signage, and custom characters for the new daycare. When asked how they felt about their experience with Chimera, Joe and Melissa said that they “felt taken care of” and that Chimera always pointed them in the right direction.
It’s amazing to me that all we gave you was a name and a mission statement and you understood our vision, our audience and our needs and created a whole branding package (including creating a unique font!) that has received a lot of positive response. Everything you’ve done has been high quality and something we are proud to consider ours.
Chimera looks beyond a logo and a letterhead package. We like to consider the big picture and who our client wants to be. Every client doesn't need an extensive branding package with bells and whistles, so we want to figure out the root of each client’s needs. If you’re looking for a more personalized design and branding experience, give us a call. We would love to help you tell your story to the world.
